Universities in Germany are involved in a wide range of alliances, affiliations, and collaborations. The members of such alliances are determined by the institutions’ topic specialization (technical focus, business, arts, etc.).

The TU9 German Universities of Technology is a collaboration of nine German technological universities. These institutions not only have a stellar reputation, but they also build world-class networks with business partners both inside and outside of Germany. The attributes of TU9 Universities are tradition, quality, and innovation. They made significant contributions to technical development at the time and continue to do so now. The TU9 German universities of technology are all public, together have over 20% international students and more than 1,200 courses. The tu9 universities list include: -

· RWTH Aachen University — RWTH Aachen now has over 42,000 students, out of which 5,000 of them are international students registered in its 144 courses. RWTH is Germany’s largest technical university, it has a 7000-strong foreign student community. All Bachelor’s degree programmes in the university are taught in German. The university offers around 41 courses in English. The University has nine faculties that offer a wide range of academic subjects, and around 540 professors and about 8,000 staff are working in research, teaching, and administration.

· Technische Universität Berlin- TU Berlin is one of Germany’s most prestigious educational institutions, with seven faculties. These institutions provide undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programmes. It has around 34,000 students, 20% of them are international students. It also boasts a long list of distinguished graduates and instructors. All undergraduate courses at TU Berlin are taught in German. The university offers around 27 courses in English.

· University of BraunschweigTU Braunschweig has a student population of around 20,000, with approximately 3,000 foreign students. It has six departments that provide 118 full and modular degree programmes in physical sciences, engineering, natural sciences and humanities, economics, and social sciences. The university offers around 1 course in English.

· Technical University of Darmstadt- The Technical University of Darmstadt has a student population of around 25,840, out of which 18% are international students. In addition, the university comprises 13 academic departments in engineering, natural sciences, mathematics, social sciences, and humanities. The university offers around 12 courses in English. The university offers 112 courses across its 13 departments.

· Technische Universität Dresden- Around 13% of the university’s 33,000 student population is of international origin. TU Dresden has 18 faculties in 5 schools, providing 122 courses in Information Technology, Bioengineering, Material Sciences, Biomedicine, Microelectronics, and Energy and Environment. The university offers academic degrees in Bachelor’s, Master’s, Diploma and State Examination. The admission is based on the university entrance qualification. The university offers around 20 courses in English.

· Leibniz University Hannover- The institution has a large student population of around 28,000, out of which 3000 are international students. The university has 9 faculties offering more than 190 first-degree full-time and part-time degree courses. These faculties provide possibilities for study and research in mechanical engineering, quantum optics, biomedical research, and teacher education. The university offers around 19 courses in English.

· Karlsruhe Institute of Technology- Karlsruhe Institute of Technology has over 25,000 students pursuing degrees in KIT, with approximately 20% of those students being foreign students from all over the world. It comprises 11 faculties that provide undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the physical sciences, social sciences, engineering, mathematics, and business. The university offers around 16 courses in English.

· Technical University of Munich- The Technical University of Munich features 15 departments that provide an excellent atmosphere for approximately 40,000 students, 29 percent of them are international students. Furthermore, most undergraduate courses at TUM are offered in German. The university offers around 62 courses in English.

· University of Stuttgart- The University of Stuttgart has a student population of 22000, out of which 21% are international students. It has ten faculties. Civil, mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering degrees are highly regarded at faculties. These institutions provide undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. It offers around 16 courses in English.
